Class Guidelines
The following class guidelines are based on past experience and are intended to ensure the classes can run smoothly and sustainably over the long term:
- Each class is 60 minutes long and will end at around the 60-minute mark.
- Each month includes 12 scheduled classes for now.
- During classes, I teach and provide feedback on Zhanzhuang postures and various Yi, and I introduce Shili, Mocabu, Fali, and other advanced Yiquan practices as participants progress. I observe each participant closely, offer corrections when necessary, and answer questions throughout the session.
- Classes will not be recorded. If you miss a class, it cannot be replayed. But class content will repeat over time, so missed material will be covered again in future sessions.
- You can pause the subscription when you are away from the classes. Contact me to do so.
- Please be patient. Live classes greatly support your progress, but consistent daily practice is the key to real improvement.
- In the event that I cannot attend a class due to an emergency, my disciple Hosh or Lyle will step in to lead the session. If both are unavailable, participants are encouraged to continue practicing together for the full hour, exchanging thoughts and experiences. Practicing as a group still generates valuable collective energy.
- If, in rare circumstances, I feel that I am not the right teacher for a particular student, I would rather refund the fee of the month and respectfully ask them to leave the class.
I truly look forward to training together and continuing this journey with you for many years to come.

What members say about our live classes
“I’m grateful you started the live classes again, Song. Today’s class was an “Aha!” moment for me. The online courses are excellent, and I’m glad I started there, but the live classes are advancing my understanding and practice much more quickly. Thank you.”
Kyle40s from TX,USA
"I took classes with Song online for almost a year and a half or two. In addition to studying all his courses step by step, during the online classes, Song would periodically pause and freeze-frame the students, pointing out areas for correction. This allowed us to learn in a way that somewhat compensated for not being physically present. He was truly meticulous. My Zhan Zhuang practice changed radically after taking two or three live online classes and seeing the corrections to my postures and those of my classmates. I should also clarify that for several months, Song taught only a few people—I was one of them—but he taught as if there were twenty of us, going into great detail. Furthermore, in the last month I took classes, I received instruction on reclining and seated postures that completely transformed my practice. I believe Song is doing everything possible to share his expertise online and guide people according to their abilities. Personally, with 20 years of Chen Tai Chi and Bagua, and some Hsing Yi, I've truly learned more from Song's classes than from several Chinese and Western teachers. I'm not offering superficial praise, but sharing my experience. I believe many people benefit from Song's practice, and each person takes advantage of it according to their experience, lifespan, and physical proximity. "

“Some of the classes during the pandemic era finished up at around 12.30 am for me. I always found myself snoring soon after. Next morning I’d always leap out of bed feeling fantastic.”
Branko40s from Australia
“There is a terrible cold going around my work and I think Zhanzhuang...even for short periods...is helping me get through a couple of very stressful weeks I'm having. It's also one of the few exercises I've tried that helps me sleep when I do it before bed because it seems to reset my nervous system.”
Jonnathanfrom NJ, USA
“The Friday night live class runs right up to my normal bedtime. I was concerned it would adversely affect my sleep, but it didn't. I’ll try a little purposeful standing right before bed and see what happens.”
Kylefrom TX, USA
“I would like to thank to yuu for this opportunity. I think, it's the best online yiquan course in the internet. I like your video and its explanation.”
Lorens Ianfrom Indonesia
"Song is a genuine teacher who cares for his students. Video provides the opportunity to make the corrections. Feeling falls into place eventually. You can learn by live video. Song makes good corrections via his video classroom teaching. I have learned a lot from him and made valuable corrections and will continue too. Having him teach monthly is a blessing. 🙏If you are lucky to meet him in person you will see a fine young teacher who has a true passion about YiQuan. "
John50s from NJ, USA
"For anyone who wants to learn Yiquan or ZhanZhuang, lessons with Song are a game changer. After years of reading books and trying to pick things up from random videos, I learned more in one session with Song than in years of struggling on my own. After 3 months of practice I experience a lot less pain from chronic back , hip and knee problems. "

"You can absolutely learn distantly online. If a teacher has the experience to be able to know what a stance should look and feel like in the body it is simple to be able to make corrections. Is it the same as when they can put a hand on you and provide real reinforcement and resistance? No. But When you can't find any teacher close to you, an outside eye with experience and knowledge that can communicate what they see to you is invaluable. Song especially has experience from training with his master and seeing the types of physical extremes that require lots of adjustments so he is experienced to help you find what you need in order to make yiquan work with your body. But ultimately it’s up to you as a student always, you only progress as far as you take the practice."
Lyle30s from NYC, USA
"I remember years ago I had a piano teacher who used to say that he wasn't there to teach, per se, but he was there to guide me (the student) on the journey to play. The actual work is done by the student, day to day, discovery to discovery, and it is always, by necessity, a deeply personal journey. I feel the same way about Yiquan: Song will make your study and practice easier than you can ever imagine."
Jonathan50s from Australia
“Yiquan, and Song's instruction, manages to be both easily accessible to beginners and still immensely deep. The time I spend practicing Yiquan is often the most valuable of my day - and the internal experience of the practice is far more engaging than it might appear. The practice has both the physical benefits of exercise as well as the mental benefits of meditation for the last 7 months. It has contributed significantly to both my physical and mental resilience and balance. And the study environment is wonderful, the students are all worth knowing in their own right and it's a very relaxed, welcoming and supportive group.”

"It’s been two months since I started studying with Song and from the first lesson I felt tremendous benefits. Song’s way of teaching is clear, focused and calibrated for each individual’s needs. I’ve experienced gains in my overall strength, balance, agility and whole body connectivity. As well as receiving a high level of training, the lessons are fun and enjoyable. I’m glad I committed to this training because I would never have experienced these gains on my own. One of the first things I noticed that it was really working was when I had to move a fridge. My whole structure was reordered and I was using my body ‘as one’.
It was the morning after a midnight class with Song and we did a ton of Shi Li. It was a profound moment for me."
